I was born in the UK and migrated with my family to Australian when I was three. I was schooled in Adelaide and joined the South Australian Police Force after completing Year 11. After leaving the Police Force in 1986, I completed an arts degree at Adelaide University majoring in politics and labour studies and ventured into the world of industrial relations with the South Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2007 I completed my law degree from Darwin University and was admitted as a legal practitioner. In 2009 I completed a Master of Laws at the Australian National University. My studtng days are over!.
I have been interested in amateur radio since the late 1970's. I have an advanced Amateur radio Licence VK5CP. I am a member of the Wireless Institute of Australia and the Amateur Radio Experimenters Group (AREG).
My wife Lena is also a lawyer (of much longer standing) and if she keeps arguing with her parents as much as she does now, I expect our daughter Harriet might become a lawyer too.
